Appointment and Pricing Policy
Dear friends, followers and prospective patients.
I am writing this article to give you information about the pre-operative preliminary information and examination processes.
As you know, I am a plastic surgeon who is only interested in aesthetic surgery of the face. I can no longer deal with other areas of aesthetic surgery or plastic surgery other than facial aesthetics. For this reason, we cannot give examination appointments in areas other than facial aesthetics. Unfortunately, I cannot accept requests for preliminary interviews, information, consultation or guidance in areas other than facial aesthetics.
I regret to observe that there is a huge information pollution about facial aesthetics and that people lose their time, financial resources and even their health in the grip of commercial, unscientific practices. As a solution to this problem, I created the blog www.yeniyuzyenihayat.com, which is perhaps the most comprehensive Turkish resource written in the field of facial aesthetics on the internet. As of the date of writing this article, there are more than 150 articles in the blog content. It is an online resource almost the size of 3-4 books. It is possible to benefit from this resource without any membership, subscription or registration, without being exposed to online advertisements or sponsored notifications. By taking the time to read it, you can get a more comprehensive ‘general information’ than you can get during a face-to-face meeting with me or another plastic surgeon. You can benefit from this online resource, which I have created as a result of a four-year study and visited by 50,000 people every month, free of charge.
Especially with my patients who apply from abroad and out of town, I can make video ‘online’ interviews via whatsapp/zoom. All my prospective patients can direct their questions that they cannot find answers on the blog or that my assistants cannot answer on the phone to me via whatsapp/instagram. We do not charge any fee for these online interviews.
The next step that candidate patients who are interested in the treatments I apply should follow is the examination. In order for you to get information beyond the first 2 steps above, I need to examine you, see your face, touch you, get to know you, understand your expectations, come up with a special treatment plan for you and then inform you in line with this plan.
The examination takes time.
I charge a fee for the examinations.
I cannot have a free initial examination or a free face-to-face preliminary consultation.
There are candidate patients who argue that the examination should be free of charge, who try to convince me and my assistant on this issue, who say that I am coming for a ‘preliminary interview’ not an examination, who accuse me of being a money-grubber without knowing me because I charge an examination fee, who say that they saw the paid plastic surgery examination for the first time in my clinic.
I understand the reasons for the candidate patients' requests for free examination or preliminary interview, because most plastic surgeons do not charge for examinations. Since free examination is not a legal practice, these examinations are characterised as ‘preliminary interviews’ and are not recorded. This practice results in the highest possible number of candidate patients entering the clinic and is actually a commercially advantageous strategy. Again, I understand both those who offer and those who demand free preliminary consultations, but it is not right to be insistent, critical or disrespectful when this demand is not met. Because the demand for free examination is not a ‘justified’ demand. Even in public institutions, examinations are paid. You do not take it out of your wallet, but it is deducted from your payroll at the end of the month. Moreover, my clinic is not a public institution.
Let me try to explain the situation from my perspective.
Free consultations are a huge waste of time and reduce the efficiency of the clinic. When I was just opening my practice, there were times when I followed the mainstream and made free ‘preliminary consultations’. I was seeing 10-20 new patients every day, 80% of these patients were coming to visit, chat, spend time. Those who came together with three-four friends, those who said that I bought a free appointment for my mother, those who said that we stopped by while shopping at Next Level, those who said that I did not want anything, those who said that I came because my friend insisted, those who travelled from doctor to doctor, those who came to a physician who made a career in surgical facial rejuvenation and said that I would not want surgery, those who competed with me for information, those who said that I do not have time to read your blog, you summarise it to me, those who had no idea about the details of my work, my professional background and my surgical fees... There was a complete lack of seriousness and dry crowd. On the other hand, due to the intensity of the examination appointments, my candidate patients who came knowing what they really wanted and what they were looking for could not find an examination appointment before 3-4 weeks.
In order to ensure efficiency in the clinical flow, it is not enough just to make examinations chargeable. Some of the prospective patients who learnt that the examination is chargeable on the phone and received information about the surgery fees find the price high and give up making an appointment. This is not a problem for me. However, a significant number of them hesitate to say that the fee is too much for me, make the appointment on the phone, confirm that they will come when called the day before the appointment, but still do not come to this appointment. This situation, which we call No Show, leads to a significant loss in clinical efficiency.
For this reason, we ask you to deposit the examination fee into our account by EFT / money order at least 24 hours before the appointment. When the fee is transferred, your appointment is confirmed, otherwise it is cancelled. If you cannot attend the examination appointment for which you have paid for any reason, we can postpone your examination appointment up to a maximum of 2 times. The examination fee you pay is deducted from any service you receive from us. For example, if you decide to have surgery, your examination fee will be deducted from the surgery fee. For example, if you want to have botulinum toxin or filling 6 months after the examination, your examination fee will be deducted from the application fee. Therefore, even if we do not plan a treatment/surgery following our examination, you can use the fee you paid for future treatments. Very rarely, if our frequencies do not match at all during the examination, if we do not like each other and decide that we will not work together in the future, we can end the examination early and we will refund you the full fee you have paid.
The material resources we have are often not easily earned. However, our time is not unlimited or worthless. My request from you is to take a look at the content I have written for you, my medical CV, my publications before coming to me for examination. You can reach me online via instagram or whatsapp before the examination.
Love to you
O.B.
